Join us on Wednesday, February 18th for our next Seattle Arts and Technology Meetup!

We'll be seeing work and thinking from two artists with roots in South America, Leo Nuñez and Juan Pampin.

Following the exhibition reception and sound performance, Leo and Juan will give a talk about their work and have a discussion about the art and tech scene in their hometown of Buenos Aires.

7:30 - 8:30 // Exhibition Reception & Sound Performance
8:30 - 9:00 // Artist Conversation
9:00 - 9:30 // Socialize

Leo has installed a new version of Dispersiones in Aktionsart's nomadic shipping container, AKT1:

an installation that explores the possibility of enabling a space with a complete system of automatous agents. This work examines sonic relations formed by nodes that are joined by lines. Each node and line are made of musical nodes made by miniature electrical elements. Each element in the work interacts with the other elements that constitute the work, and Dispersions refers to the paradigms of scientific complexity and their establishment within Chaos Theory.

Private View: February 18 - 27

Juan will be performing Acoustic Scan II:

an ongoing research project exploring the concept of aural architecture using ultrasoinc sound beams. The first iteration of this project was presented at the Fase 6.0 Arts, Science and Technology Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 25, 2014. For this performance a set of three ultrasonic speakers controlled by a robotic system was used to acoustically scan the architecture of the Paseo del Tilo of the Centro Cultural Recoleta.

The Seattle Arts and Technology Meetup is a new platform for investigating collaboration and experimentation in the arts, technology and design. We organize educational programs and social/networking events for individuals working at the intersection of art and tech to share ideas, strategies, successes, challenges and failures.

Join the conversation on Twitter using the #ArtsTechSEA hashtag.
